Just in case you didn’t know September is the official kick off of “the back to business mindset”, similar to back to school it’s time to declare summer is over and September is time to focus on building business. Typically in Minnesota the Tradeshows, expos and Networking event calendars are packed with things to do.

Networking in MN on Saint Patricks Day

Instead of the usual St. Patricks day celebation why not do some business networking on the day of the green. There is a businesss networking events happening in the Twin Cities on St. Patricks day. At 6pm The Gettin Bizzy Networking Social is being held at Oak City in Bloomington, MN. Jason Hopp of Gettin Bizzy works hard to pick the best upscale locations for his networking events. We went ot the last Gettin Bizzy event at Craves and found it a refreshing new hip networking social that is different than most networking events. Jasons Relationship with Crave was evident by the way the cocktail servers offered ice water to everyone… not something that every networking social can say.

Meetup Networking Groups are a way for you to meet up with people who share your passion. Networking does not have to be all about business you can still develop business networking relationships at a dinner/social meetup or dog lovers meetup. The key is to get out there and share and meet new people that you otherwise would not meet during the business day.

Meeting people face to face to discuss starting a business, looking for a job or a social dinner club can boost the number of people you know increasing your network. The Meetup website neatly lets you peruse the different categories of interest by your location. You can see what the meetings are about, review members and RSVP for upcoming networking events. If you find that there are no groups that are of interest to you then start a new meetup group yourself.

It’s really easy to start a meetup group because they will walk you through the steps including looking for a venue to hold your group or charging admission to your group. Just go to meetup.com and put in your zip code to pull up a list of all of the meetup groups within 25 miles of your location. No matter what your interests meetup has a group for you to visit and network.
